Windy Hill Farm is a small family owned farm that is seeking to breed for the qualities that made and are making the Rocky Mountain Horse an increasingly popular and much in demand horse. Because of it's kind temperament , smooth gait and incredible endurance the Rocky Mountain Horse is being discovered and prospering outside of it's original homeland of the rugged and beautiful foothills of the Appalachian Mountain's in Eastern Kentucky . The Rocky Mountain Horses history is a worthy read all by itself, a matter of survival , sensibility and versatility for the people of Eastern Kentucky. The Rocky Mountain Horse which not long ago was near extinction but now is prospering is truly a horse for all season's and just happens to be of breathtaking beauty to .
